The roots of Mushroom Man were first laid down in the iconic Adelaide Central Market. It was there that Marco’s father (a first generation Italian Aussie with a flamboyant personality) worked a popular gourmet delicatessen and eatery for close on forty years. This is where a young and equally flamboyant boy developed his trade chops.
But Marco had his own plans for the future. Enter Mushroom Mans Mushroom Shop. Together with wife Bec they have successfully owned and operated Mushroom Man’s Mushroom Shop since 2002. Never content, and always evolving, Mushroom Man has developed its own range of products to satiate the experience of customers.
Whether its’ Australia’s best known Chefs or Marcos favorite customers, the Gourmet Choice range has elevated the worlds of Salts and Truffle Oils to Restaurant standard.
The Gourmet Range has proven so popular that is now features in fantastic gift packs for every imaginable cooking occasion.
What’s the key to being a success in the Industry? Marco confesses: “We are fortunate to work with some the best growers in Australia allowing us to supply amazing quality mushrooms at very reasonable prices. Starting with the basic white & brown mushrooms through to asian gourmet varieties.”
Always looking towards the future and innovation, Mushroom Man has several ‘firsts’ to its credentials. Marco adds: “We were the first to supply commercial quantities of wild Porcini from the Adelaide Hills, an amazing first for Australia. We constantly strive to bring our customers a new & interesting experience through producing & sourcing new fresh & gourmet products.”
