New to the Mushroom Shop this year and finally available in Adelaide are our Wild French varieties of mushrooms. The best mushrooms from Europe available FRESH direct from Paris. These are the most reverred mushrooms throughout Europe, the types you see on many of the teaching cooking shows. The flavours are amazing and the quality excellent.

Chanterelles (Girolle)

Available June to October.

Chanterelles are a aromatic wild mushroom that not only taste delicious but also add a beautiful golden colour to dishes. They have a meaty, chewy texture and hold their shape and flavour, which makes them perfect for slow cooking in stews, soups, creamy sauces, pasta, or even baking.

Mousseron are a small delicate mushroom. They have a sweet rich taste blendng beautifully with eggs, sauteed in butter, as a stuffing and served with roasted meats.

Pied de Mouton (Pigs Foot)

Available September-October

Shaped like a pigs trotter, Pied de Mouton have a great earthy, mildly nutty flavour. Having firm flesh they hold up well in slow cooking. Excellent in risottos, stews and soups, they also work well with poultry, eggs, cream or simply tossed in butter.
