The Mushroom Man

Hi. I am Marco Marinelli aka The Mushroom Man. My life's passion has always been food, fuelled by a heritage of generations of European food merchants in my family. My immediate family has been in the gourmet food industry in Adelaide or more specifically the Central Market for well over 30 years and I was raised and taught to appreciate the best of gourmet and fresh foods from my earliest memories. Many of my favourite and most cherished memories as a child included an abundance of amazing food as is the case for many with European heritage.

Teamed with years of experience in the food service industry and great relationships with some of the best Chefs in Australia, I have been fortunate enough to become a relative authority in the specialised field of mushrooms in Adelaide and more recently the gourmet delicacy that is Truffles.

My aim with the help of my team at the Mushroom Shop is to create and recreate an amazing food experience for all who visit and shop at the icon of food that is the Adelaide Central Market. We endeavour to bring the best of local produce right through to the most gourmet mushroom experience from around the world to the food loving public of Adelaide.

Being Adelaide born, I prefer to support South Australia first, Australia second and International where necessary to bring the best quality and best value mushrooms and truffles (as well as related products) to the plates of South Australian mushroom lovers.

This site has been launched to help support food evolution for our local customers as well as to cater for gourmet mushrooms fans in regional areas and the other states who struggle to find the range of gourmet varieties and truffles that can be enjoyed in central Adelaide.

As always, I will endeavour to find and create the best quality of products at value-for-money prices for our local customers as well as constantly updating our site as a reference point for estimated timing regarding arrivals for our seasonally dependant gourmet mushrooms and truffles.
