Asian Truffles (Tuber Indicum)

During January and February this year we stocked some excellent value-for-money truffles from Asia. While milder than European and Tasmanian winter truffles, they actually rated exceptionally in blind truffle tastings in Sydney. Renowned Chefs were pleased with this variety, especially given that the retail price was very reasonable at only 75$ per gram or $750 per kilo. I won't say much more at this point due to the likelyhood that AQUIS (quarrantine) may prohibit their importation this year to protect the local truffle industry. I'll keep you posted as I know more.
